Marie Melksham Credentialled Diabetes Educator & Registered Nurse

With over 30 years of experience in diabetes education, I have worked in both public and private sectors across Gladstone and Rockhampton, including community health, hospitals, GP clinics, Indigenous health services, and allied health clinics. I have a special interest in Diabetes Children’s Camps and have had the privilege of running or assisting with 28 camps in Central Queensland over the past three decades. I understand diabetes is a personal journey, and I take a holistic approach to client education. Some individuals may only need to touch base once or twice a year, while others benefit from ongoing support to manage their condition effectively.

I welcome both private clients and those referred through Medicare for chronic disease allied health services. My session fee is $90, with clients on a Medicare referral eligible for a rebate for up to five allied health visits each calendar year. Additionally, clients with private referrals may be able to receive reimbursement through their health insurance extras.

I look forward to working together on your diabetes management journey!
